1  Games / Spelunky Classic / Spelunky: Nerd Rage Edition on: September 11, 2011, 02:09:44 PM
A while back, my internet got disconnected as I was doing something important. My brother, who also needed my computer, was a bit mad at this development. It ended up being off for a while, and I sort of let my brother's constant pestering affect my mood and long story short, I ened up with pretty bad nerd rage. So, to calm my nerves, I decided to play Spelunky.

Here is what proceeded.

It was just a few hours of silent frustration, restarting for the most trivial of reasons, bombing snakes and damsels liberally, and robbing stores, something I almost never do. I even started suicide bombing enemies for damaging me.

Eventually, I calmed down and decided to check If my internet was back. To my surprise, it was.

And that was my story of Spelunky nerd rage. Does anybody have a similar story they'd like to share?

Much better. I think this is coming along nicely. If anybody plays this game, be sure to let me know how everybody plays when they're wasted.

We need a number of drinks for each type of death

like spikes are 3 drinks, cave men 1, snakes 4.

something like that.
That actually is a good idea.

@ Dudemaster: I haven't, but it just seemed like such i good idea I had to post it.

The rules are simple. gather 4 freinds into a room with a computer. Preferrably people who have never heard of spelunky but still think they're hard core gamers. Bring plenty of alcohol. You each take turns playing Spelunky. But when you lose, everyone takes a drink. A new person take over, rinse and repeat. The game ends when everyone is drunk.

Only play as Spelunky
Always start in the caves
A ragequit counts as a death
Questions? ask away. I'll add rules to the list.

This should be funny.

Name?-strongbad
What will you replace?-Shopkeep
What will you be?-StrongBad
Why? 1. People took all the throwing characters and I've had this idea for a while.
        2. He kicks the cheat, and throwing is sort of like kicking.
Noticable changes?-Instaed of throwing, he kicks. He doesn't have a shotgun. He looks like StrongBad. And all shopkeeper names are replaced with StrongBad

Episode 2: Telefragging proably isn't worth it

There are so many other ways you can kill enemies that won't screw you over MOST of the time. Basically, it's using a teleporter to randomly teleport you into a tile that an enemy occupies, killing them. Storytime: I tried telefragging once, and found out that you can go pretty far with one. But it does have its advantages. It's a good way to kill a shopkeeper. And it's perfect for people wanting a challenge. But it's just so hard to get. In short, telefragging isn't for everyone.

Once you get used to the fact that it just shoots spider webs, the webcannon can actually be a great defensive weapon. Trying to rob a shop? Stick Shoppy with a web! You can then jump him to death! You can also use it to save your life. Simply shoot a web near a pit before you fall, and it can actually keep you8 from taking too much damage from a fall. yhou can even use it again in the web! Now YOU can share your comments on the web cannon. Get crackin'!

Speaking of which, why are the shopkeepers down here?

"I've got an idea! instead of setting up shop in a market place, I'll go into a dark cave, and hope an adventurer needs supplies to traverse said caves! It's brilliant!
