There have been a few threads about this, but in the 4 seconds I spent looking around I didn't find any concrete answers. Anyone know of, or mind directing me to, a port of spelunky to game maker studio, or is it just a pipe dream?
(If it doesn't exist, I'll have to attempt to port it </3)
Hate to break it to you, but it's a pipe dream.
Any specific reason why it is a terrible idea? Like, it can be done, right? Just hasn't been done yet due to the vast amount of tedium?

I'm considering making a mod, or just bugging around with the game, but if I want to add anything coolio I'd like to know if there is a specific palette I need to restrict myself to so things don't look out of place. All of the sites I've seen have mentioned 8-bit and spelunky, but usually in reference to the music. Haven't read anything that straight up screams "Ayy, lmao. Spelunky is 8bit."
On another note, feel free to add anything you might change about spelunky classic as it is.

 I finally contributed to society! TAKE THAT DAD!!! Anyway, would love to help in any way I can (can kick rocks), recently downloaded my first mod and now I'll do anything to get myself more xD.

Yeah, that was kinda my intent when posting that XD. I've played it a bit and love the retextures. but I can't say I love it until it has some game changing differences.

Not casual gamers exactly, but, you know, the kids at school that come up to you and ask you if you have played that new game Minecraft and spend their time looking up pictures of diamond swords on google images.

I guess I can't do a very good job of explaining it, but I didn't mean that I didn't want "casual" gamers to play, just not the people who think apps are a great video game platform.

I hate those kinds of people, therefore this topic is the most correct topic on the forum. mostly the angry face part.

Cool Tongue. If I may suggest a something for the mod, You should also add an option where she has underwear, in case somebody still wants the buffs/debuffs but doesn't like seeing pixelated parts. Also, if the damsel can't carry anything...Shouldn't diggy dig man and spelunker have at least one pocket sense they knew where they were going? Just a suggestion. Btw, did you add your name to the list of shopkeepers? xD

EDIT: I would get it if you were to dislike the idea of spelunker having another slot, and disliking tunnel man having one because he is overpowered already though Tongue.

....Just change oKey to whatever you want and it should still work. The number right after that should be the range it detects the key at. But you probably just want to get it working, then you can try tweaking it if you want.

Ohkay, thanks! Cheesy. Also, dunno if this is intentional, but it seems there is no way to obtain mod  items on the level editor. (As you are editing though, sacrificing for all of the fun stuff still works Tongue).

Been playing your mod a bit, and some of the aspects can make for some fun user levels ^_^. I have already made one with the intent of making it a little 4 level story. Great mod Cheesy. Glad you didn't overdue the naked part Tongue.
