1  Games / Spelunky Classic / Re: playing Spelunky with a gamepad on: September 02, 2009, 11:26:23 AM
It worked with my Airflo EX pad right away, without dealing with the config applet.  So if you have a gamepad already set up under Windows, it should work by default.
2  Games / Bugs/Suggestions / After 10 minutes, 3 problems crop up . . . on: September 02, 2009, 09:13:10 AM
Hello!  Congratulations on the 1.0 release.  I'm looking forward to playing the game for a longer time later, but I thought I should pass along some problems I encountered after just a few minutes trying it out.  I have Win XP SP2, an Audigy 2 sound card and a 128-MB NVidia FX5900 video card.  CPU is a Northwood P4 @ 2.4 GHz.  Memory, 768 MB dual-channel RDRAM.  (Yes, my PC is getting quite old.)

The music sometimes gets way loud on room transitions.  I went into that room with all the locked doors, and when I went back outside, the music was blaring distortedly.  Pausing and unpausing cured it.

If you use the rope by accident in the tutorial cave (before learning about it) you're stuck.  I know (now) that using the rope properly is important, but you shouldn't get stuck hopelessly and without any feedback in a tutorial.  May I suggest an extra rope pickup near that vertical ledge where it's needed?

When I quit, the whole screen went black (playing in window mode).  Then I got an abnormal termination (program crash) in the Spelunky app.  I had to use the show-desktop icon to bring back my desktop graphics.  I think I may have pressed a gamepad (Nyko Airflo EX) button while the app was closing down.  I'm not entirely sure though.

Thanks for the game!  I am a fan of Aquaria as well.  Great job.
