-Grumbles about gamepad while recovering his spelunky folder-

You can still use the gamepad by using Joypad mapper like JoyToKey. Just be sure to turn "Use GamePad" off in Spelunky Config.

As a neat thing i noticed, if you carry a pokeball to the exit door and enter, the ball is added back to your inventory. Though I think this happened with ropes and unactive bombs on normal spelunky, so...

-still laughing over that smash reset-
I managed to get to the caves from the start yesterday, i got to say upping the hearts a damsel gives you really helps.  once i got sticky bombs, it's rather easy to kill the smash traps. Oh and the fact that i'm using a gamepad may be helping. Smiley

This mod is a hell of a good time to play.the shop keeper keeps getting eaten by a mantrap, and then once you've got a shotgun... well you get it.

meh, these are all rather minor problems. Don't kill yourself working on it. I made it to the boss yesterday, but i died cause i was down to one life and distracted at the time.

EDIT:a Rather major bug however, I just found.

When i started up spelunky crowded, i got this.

not to be outdone

found one though I need to explain this one.

A bombtoad got stepped on and blew up, as it does, breaking the blocks underneith the entrance. ... i'm sure that should be impossible, as i spawned a bomb in invincible once, so is the unbreakable off or something?

Oh and use Greenshot for screenshots, it's so much easier. I know you're using somekind of program, it's snapped to the window.

EDIT: i just grabbed the mattock man. the ground can't be broken by that, so i think it's just the bombtoad.

EDIT:EDIT: I just noticed that there are a few texture errors all over the place, the doors being swaped with wall tiles and stuff like that, it may just be all the monsters glitching a few bits of the game.

EDIT:EDIT:EDIT: Got the same error message as DialF above.

Try beating the tutorial without breaking out in tears. You think that's bad, i'm just the tutorial level, those are the other levels over there!

thanks. I'm guessing, from what i know of windows security, that you will need to have a spelunky registry already, and you will need to run portable as admin when you export. I'll test once i copy over my spelunky folder.

I come back after getting my comp setup and find a bunch of cool things have happened. I'm a huge fan of Rougelikes, (in fact i'm looking for a way to get a few old RL emulators to run on 7 as we type) so this will nice. Now all i need to do is download the new version of spelunky portable, and bring my spelunky folder over to my new comp. -is swelling with excitement!-

Is it possible to export scores into the registry as well? I'd still have to get my shortcuts back for mods, and i'd rather not lose my scores.

I haven't got a chance to test this yet, as i'm currently moving all my data to my external drive, for preparation to upgrade my computer.(which reminds me I have to go get spelunky portable) Kingler's flail, how much damage does it do? I'll have my new comp up and running somewhere between tonight and tomorrow, so i'll try then.

i just changed the light to change colors. I had a serious time with sprites because my computer refused to save the game as a exe if it had sprites edited in GM8. HOWEVER! I recently finished Metroid: Other M... i'm gonna see if i can make a sprite of Adam's hat. Because it's nice.

Just a very minor mod I made to test a few things with GM8, errors that I had with my old computer. The mod is utterly pointless. Find the hidden secret and screen shot it and win a prize!!! Note: Prize does not exist. Hidden secret is not that well hidden.

white screen of death?

I never had that happen..

It's a vista error, so if use xp or 7 i'm not suprised. basically when a program goes not responding, a clear white filter will go over the program. and all my sprite work is gone. dang it. i'll just change the bomb sprite.
