Given that the level-sharing instructions say nothing about posting a .lvl file, it's understandable that you wouldn't know that we prefer that.  As for the emote spam, yeah, we don't like that here.  I understand that there's plenty of Internet communities where that's normal, though, so I don't blame you for making that mistake at first.  Just avoid it from now on, and you'll be fine.

I like how Naija was going on about the beauty and variety of creatures living in the Kelp Forest, while I was having her murder said creatures.

His dad's transgendered.  Simple.

Just started playing it; it's very pretty.  I find having to continually click to move at my fastest to be a bit of a pain, but that's just a small gripe.

Very nice.  I keep meaning to donate, myself.  I probably could soon; my summer job means I'll have money to burn for once.

Part 1: I could see this working for the credits; it's a fair bit too cheery and upbeat for anything else.
Part 2: Fits the mood of the caves quite well.  And damn you for cutting it so short; I wanted to hear more Tongue
Part 3: Jungle?  The bit at the beginning felt a little too frantic; I don't think it meshed well with the part after the other instruments kicked in.
Part 4: Heh, I'd love to hear this in a kissing booth.  Can't see it working anywhere else.
Part 5: Guessing Black Market for this one; sorta a mix between music I'd associate with speakeasies and middle-eastern street bazaars, which is perfect for that.
Part 6: Hm, not sure where I'd place this one.  I'll guess Temple, but could also see it in the Black Market for the middle-eastern street bazaar vibe I mentioned above.
Part 7: Score room, I'd say; it's more relaxed than most of the others, which would work well there.
Part 8: Game over!  Good night.

Enjoyed the medley overall, save for that issue I had with part 3.  And I happen to love chiptunes; I'll have to check out your other work.  Is there any piece you're especially proud of?

I loved Mother 3.  All the quirkyness of EarthBound, but with better characters and plot.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (an offshoot of an earlier roguelike named Linley's Dungeon Crawl) is almost completely hack-and-slash (moreso than NetHack), and is extremely well made.  There's a ton of variety in races and classes, and a great skill system where you improve in things by doing them and aren't restricted from doing anything due to your race/class (they just make some things easier/harder).  It also has a more detailed religion system than in NetHack and similar roguelikes; each god has their own personality and requires different things to gain favour with them, rather than just being divided into Good/Neutral/Evil.  Lastly, it's the most user-friendly roguelike I've ever played; there's even a tutorial.

Copying this from a post I made in Arucard's roguelike thread:

IVAN is a rather wacky roguelike with such features as being able to vomit on command, and having the gods replace severed limbs with new ones made of materials ranging from banana flesh to diamond.

LetterHunt is a cross between a roguelike and a word game; you play for score, and get points by killing monsters in order such that they spell words.

Shiren the Wanderer is the second game in Chunsoft's long-running Mystery Dungeon series of roguelikes; Chocobo Dungeon and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon are later titles.  This one doesn't have any licensed characters like most of the others.  It uses an interesting mechanic where, while the main game has permadeath, you can accomplish things that makes future plays easier (such as sending an item to the starting village's warehouse so you can use it in your next game).  The link is to a translation patch that can be used on a Japanese ROM of the original SNES game, though there's also an English version of a DS port that came out a couple years ago (haven't played that one, so can't say if it's better/worse).

Incursion is a roguelike where the focus is on making yourself more powerful by intelligently building your character, rather than finding awesome gear (though finding awesome gear certainly helps).  It's fairly complicated, even as roguelikes go, though less so if you're familiar with the d20 roleplaying system that it's based on.  It also has the most fun rogue class I've ever seen in a roguelike.

Mars and KirbyLord, are either of you still interested in this?  I'd like to see it continue, so if not, let us know so Arucard can take the next turn.

Well, either that or Darkness could just do a late finish.  I don't mind either way.

By the way, I made a mod specifically for doing these; the action button is disabled, and there's no dark levels.

It'd certainly be nice not to have to scrollthrough all the frequently posted in forum games for the other topics.

I don't see why a new moderator would be necessary; if Del is enough to handle one forum with both games and discussion, splitting it into two forums isn't going to make any more work for her.

Thanks; another reset did it.

And nice work so far on the editor.  You know if you want to get really crazy, finding a workaround for the 'one tile per character' limitation in .lvl files would allow you to put an utterly ridiculous variety of stuff in there.  Maybe have one character denote that the tile is in the 'extra' set, and have two 'maps' in a .lvl file, going to the second map when that character is encountered in the first.

So, if you have the extra character be Q, and D is, say, a rope in the first set, and a camel's head in the second, a 1x2 level with a rope to the left of a camel's head would look like

DQ

*D

Where the * is anything, as it won't matter since there's no corresponding Q that tells the game to look in the second map.

So I ran the unlocker, and it set my scores fine, but I still don't have a shortcut room.  I played a few games, and Tunnel Mantrap didn't show up on my second time reaching the Lush levels.

Hadn't heard of that Shiren port.  Maybe it's the thirds Shiren game?  I'm only familiar with the first, but there's two others.  According to Wikipedia, the third one is on the Wii, with an easier PSP version in the works.
