I dont want to dig through baes post  to quote what I want, but as far as pedophiles go you can get in trouble befor your 18. I think theres a 4 year rule

Depends entirely on location
Fun fact in several provinces and states you only have to be 16 to be considered of legal age

Do you do anything that's not raging super? Ponies are awesome! They are almost as popular as porn  Tongue

Fun fact Touhou actually is more popular than porn on pixiv (japanese deviantART basically)

Also I'm locking the thread, we do not need to talk about ponies whether its bashing them or praising them its annoying to hear

8  Games / Spelunky / Re: What would you like to see in DLC (also minor spoilers) on: July 28, 2012, 07:54:24 PM
Stuff I would be quick to buy (with the prices I'd be quick to buy them at)
*Tunnelman player DLC -1-2$ (I understand with how lush Derek's work is making new characters may be a little expensive so I wouldnt mind paying a bit extra)
*Damsel skin DLC - .50$ (per skin) 2$ (if all three are bundled together)
The issue with damsels is now with all the selectable characters it's not as simple as just spawning the spelunker in the damsel's place, so it's totally understandable if this never came.
*More characters, of course - .50 - 1$ each
*TLS Mode, GoH mode, YASM or other style randomized modes - 2-7$ (again, a little inflated because the new art that may need to be done for some of these)
*Challenge rooms like the original, tls, and yasm had - no idea what id pay haha

I'm sure this comes a bit too late to help but not being able to unlock stuff (other than an achievement or two) in multiplayer isn't a big downside, you can always swap the controller between deaths in single player while you try to grind out short cuts (I'm pretty sure new characters are too rare to make that a viable thing to have more than one person grind at)

They look like they're made of that squishy foam stuff

11  Games / Spelunky / Spelunky Stories on: July 28, 2012, 06:25:15 PM
Let's have a thread to talk about the zany stuff we've had happen to us in the new spelunky (I think there might have been a thread like this for the pc version hmm).

Yesterday, playing with a friend:
During what I called an "uncooperative run" (in which both of us would die quickly) I ran off with a damsel before my friend could grab her, jumped down a floor, spotted a arrow trap and managed to turn in time to use the damsel as a shield... which shot her out of my hands, bounced her off a wall, and landed her in spikes, much to my friend's amusement.

Then later during a proper cooperative run my friend was dead and I found a coffin in the jungle to resurrect her with, only I was holding a boomerang and wasn't thinking about how it worked, so when I broke it open she get hit and flew backwards and died.

Older single player stuff:
On one of my best early runs I managed to get 6 health and a boomerang before the end of the end of the caves... and then died because I somehow managed to not jump over a pit and instead jump one tile ahead and land in the spikes that were a tile in front of me.

Dumb blog posts copied over from my Tumblr because I dont want to rewrite them as past-tense stories:

"Worst part about the new Spelunky is theres a journal to fill up with entries about all the stuff you find and for traps enemies you have to either kill it or get killed by it to get it in the journal.
So sometimes I’ll see something thats invincible and throw myself at it in order to get it added to the journal."

"Wow I just survived getting punched by a caveman, a long fall, dodged an arrow trap and two smash blocks, narrowly dodged a tiki trap then outran a tomb lord’s flies.
IT’S THE WILL OF THE GODS…"

"But then I got a dark level.
Cries."

"I was trying to finish up some of the journal and managed to get a beehive in a restless dead level.
I’m disappointed the bees aren’t undead themed like everything else.
Cause think about it.
Zom-bees. "

"/Spelunky HD spoilers
So in the new Spelunky there is a snail enemy and a hard to get shield item.
The shield is super cool because you can just run into stuff and push it into a wall to kill it and nothing will hurt you unless it hits your back.
But what really amuses me is if you charge at a snail that way the snail goes SUPER FAST because you’re running at it with the shield and it just makes me laugh a lot because vroom vroom vroom gotta go fast I am the fastest snail.
And then it dies from going too fast and hitting a wall.
The end."

I've also managed get around three Undead/King Piranha/Dark levels so far ._ .
/end story time, your turn

After finding out some interesting things you can do in Spelunky HD I figured having a topic to share them in would be really cool.

Single Player:
-You can pick up the little critters that you find everywhere and use them to disable traps [Common Knowledge]

Multiplayer:
-You Can sacrifice team mates for Kali Favour (at about 75% of the favour you get from a damsel, according to mars) and then bring them back later from a coffin, saving you from wasting a damsel.
-Dead players can help scout out the layout of dark levels by flying into an area you cant see.
-Dead players can blow air at things and push them around or out of the way [Common Knowledge]
-Dead players can set off traps [Common Knowledge]

Go go share the cool tricks you've found

It shows items in both versions.
It most certainly does not. Only in the new one.
Not sure if I like that. On one had it makes the spectacles less useful as an item, on the other hand you do have to find two items and bring them together in order to get it so...

Machete
[...]
*Makes that weird sound when you grab it.
[...]
Shield

+Blocks all damage
[...]
Laser Cannon
I laughed at you pointing out the noise the machete makes

Shield: Doesn't actually block ALL damage. I don't believe it blocks bombs (It didn't protect me when I was in death match with a friend) and I'm fairly certain anything that hits you from behind will still hurt you.

Cannon: Also -Has long cool down (unless that's only in death match).

no, sticky bombs are not more powerful than the sceptre. They're easier to use and more reliable, but when talking about raw power, the sceptre easily wins.

Bombs do 10 Damage, nothing killable to my knowledge has more then 10 HP, therefore they have the exact same power.

In short its a neat little hidden thing that most people miss, like a literal easter egg
15  Games / Spelunky / Re: Subtle differences on: July 28, 2012, 05:25:47 PM
^All that is carried over from the PC version.

Also confirming Cavemen definitely spawn in the caves (one flew out of no where and killed my friend last night haha).
