I was watching this video and the player mentioned various bugs he had found, including:

  • If two players overlap a piece of gold at the same time, they will both pick it up, doubling its worth. (Mentioned in the Jungle section of the video)
  • Something about if you enter the door at the end of a level at the same time the timer will still run. (Mentioned in the Temple)
  • Locked chests appearing in the Jungle (Mentioned after the boss)
  • Level generation in Jungle still making impossible paths. (Mentioned after boss)

I believe he's running the GOG version just after the Pro HUD and Slothsel were added.

Edit: Actually I'm not entirely sure, due to his profile name appearing I think it might be Steam version?

Ok so maybe Olmec wasn't that much harder with co-op and I was just being stupid, but the run overall is a lot different from the normal game. I wonder if I can find any LPs trying to do solo co-ops (maybe PsychedelicEyeball has one... or might be up for the suggestion).

Alright, it's a lot more acceptable knowing it's a poke at nude mods, and a lot funnier knowing the snowballing depth that was added to it lol.

Maybe I'll try it out sometime just to see the extra stuff you added (but also I have way too many proper games to finish so that might not be for a while).

Why wouldn't they scale though that doesnt make sense to me

If the Moai diamond was 7500 I assume that's because it's not a ghost gem and it's being effected by the increased worth of the ice caves

Which makes me think it is actually a bug because it means that something about the ghost prevents it from scaling, it's not just diamonds are set to not incur the increased value. Either the ghost touching a gem does something like ChangeSprite>Diamond, ChangeWorth>5000 or it otherwise shields it from the effects somehow.

Something like that I only half know what I'm talking about.

No one will ever argue with you on that idea and if they do they're not real people and you should shoot them off into space

What I've been thinking is adding 4 custom slots that you can just load charsheets into so you can potentially have a 4 player game with all custom skins without any modding (and adding a thing so that it says you're using a custom skin when you show up on the leader board, I'm tired of having the blue guy beside my score).

Maybe that was just me but like

I completely froze up not knowing how to juggle keeping the co op char alive and breaking through the ground, but maybe I just need to try again, perhaps I'll do that today

That's because most games don't need or wouldn't benefit from it. I'm not sure Spelunky needs it with the pro hud, but it's a very common thing in fighting games. MvC3 even lets you move the hud entirely off screen just in case you want to have no fucking clue how the match is going.

Also I know the forums are dead but I'm pretty sure this thread probably gets a lot of offsite visits from people who want custom stuff

On that note if you want to be less lazy (or heck I'll even do it for you and let you paste back the BB code in a post edit) splitting the texture mods into characters and other (or even level texture packs and other) would be very nice for finding stuff easier, I mean most people probably just want to see a list of what characters they can download.

Also thinking about making a mirror to this thread on steam but hmm that might make less traffic come here and thats a no no
