Evil Death Spelunky of deathly dieing with death and dieing in such a way that it kills you dead, killing you with deathly doomy deathy goodness until you die dead. (of doom)

Don't think it's over yet! this is only the start of the pain! It only gets harder from here. can you find and beat the hidden level? Don't think my support of this ends yet! Custom levels are coming only for this version! New bad guys may show up in latter versions! maybe even a new final boss? Who can tell!?

I did after dying a few times in Level 2, nice touch with the laser, pity the doors are stilll usable

Actually that's good, gives a glimpse of other worlds...the spike totems do nothing to cavemen???

And everything...AHHHHH!:GHD%GFVB>JSDA:WKBE!!!

I did too the beam made me invulnerable so I could pass through it easily and push the blocks away... and then I died... Also the blocks are there even if the shortcut hasn't been dug.

The jetpack has a limited fuel source??? And apparently reds really are invincible!


EDIT: NOPE! They just take forever, or a bomb (sometimes 2!) killed a few by hand thanks to the only good weapon left: the webcannon, but even that can go only so far...

The doors are ment to still be used. Just adding to the theme you know? I had made it so you couldn't get there, but that would just be evil.

This is beatable by the way. really.

I love the new spike walls. the only traps that have an upgraded verson. HA HA HA HA

(yes, jet pacts are useless now)

i actually do better in this version than the normal game, the mattock lasts forever (or at least it lasted me 6 levels before breaking...) ;D

id have to say its pretty overpowered >_>

also, woo! i beat the tutorial! it was hard :(

I didn't change the mattock at all. you just had the luck of the gods.

(the tutorial is the hidden level, sadly deaths count in the tutorial and I didn't change it)

They do damage, it just stuns for less time and they have far more health. and all but the which ever the bow room is evil (I need to like add something to attack you in that room)

The Super Caveman isn't evil at all, just tons of health, no super charge, no Special abilitys(Not including the lack of stun) Theres no real danger in fighting one. The the superfast normal caveman is more Dangerous.

Also I beat the hidden level.

I managed to get all the way through, didn't go through any hidden stage or black market. I just did my best to get out of each level until I got about 30 bombs and some others from robbing shops. A couple of close calls and a nasty surprise at the end boss (who'd have thought the Spelunky would be so popular.

I believe I only survived the final boss fight on this mod because of a the mercy of the Random map generation (there was a platform to the left that if I hid just below off the final boss couldn't reach me or chip away at I used this to help buy me time where I could blow a space open to give myself a chance at beating the boss.

I aquired a sceptor on the way buy blowing up a mummy with a few bombs as well.

This is what save my but in the final battle, these two ledges allowed me to get past him without it releasing red creatures by smashing blocks:

I nearly died 6 times trying to get him to go straight down the hole (as you can see he managed to get back up and started to work his way down)

I was ready and waiting for the final surprise (perhaps a clomp would kill me, perhaps the idol shot out of the volcano would land on me...) but nope I survived to spelunk another day I guess.

A few things to note, you can "farm" the arrow traps for free arrows (if your quick enough) and can end up with like 40 of them, I noticed that the bomb shot was effectively removed. But I figured that I'd let you know that you can still collect the arrows from traps (I guessed that the rapid vanishing arrows was ment to stop people collecting them).

The sceptor is still kind of uber, granted many of the customs in the temple aren't bothered by it, the sceptor is still usefull in weeding out shopkeepers and other weaker enemies.

Bombs are very very useful, especially in killing the harder monsters. I may have gotten lucky but each attempt at the mod I did I noticed a good number of bomb shops.

The (Crime offended) enhanced shop keepers, even when at the end of a map aren't a problem if you don't waste time. Shoot them and run into the exit.

UFOs where surprisingly flimsy, I was expecting them to be slightly harder than the normal bats but they die a lot quicker.

The boss is ok, but I think its "how high to jump" AI might need tweaking. It seemed like if I was past a certain point it would jump significantly higher than if I was closer to the ground. This is really how I managed to win in my opinion. Two ledges blocked it if you where within range of them, as the head couldn't touch them with any part of itself (it could with the ones on the eastern edge (which it destroyed).

This mod is hard.  I can't even  pass the tutorial.

I dread coming near pots because if they spawn a snake or spider, I'm screwed.

Damsels are mere meatshields.  I'm not even bothering with them anymore.

Shopkeepers are tough.  However, bombs easily take care of them, thats a plus.

The shotgun seems to do less damage.  It took like 5 shots of the shotgun to kill one snake (though not all of hte bullets hit each time)

The invincible bats are really annoying.  They kil me fast.

Oh, and about the jetpack?  WHY MMG?  WHY DID YOU MAKE IT SO THE JETPACK CAN ONLY RUN FOR HALF A SECOND? WHY?

I have but one solace:  The Teleporter:  It's dirt cheap and lets me rob stores, kill invincible bats, and in general, make life easier.

Don't nerf it PLEASH.

The tutorial used to be worse... but I couldn't beat it!

The spiders you can still kill by whipping the pot before they move.... unless they are red....

You should add more Favor to Super Yetis. Even if that isn't evil, it helps make it less "Unfair" Though alot of things say that. It would be a nice addition, and it would make it worth being on the same Tile as one. Also, the super enemies have FAR too much health, its nice that they are powerful. But its harder to fight a Super bat than it is to fight the Final Boss.

Basically, it's coded to do damage at a time, and the object dies before that time is started.

So in-game speaking, its because it Detracts to fast.

Also Sudo, in the coding, the Speartrap will do damage once there's a character on the instance in which its set to be out all the way naturally, otherwise, being near it even if the spears weren't out would hurt you.

Mars changed it so he goes out faster and retracts faster. So the Instance in time where the spikes are all the way out during the event in normal speed is never reached, so the hitting point never occurs.

but if there was a set speed, wouldn't it be
a simple matter to edit it so the speed would
change to some higher value? (Depending on
how cruel MGG wants to be)

Coding is Physics and rules in a Language your program can understand.

Also I keep getting crushed on the rebound by boulders.
only thing missing is some hardcore music.

I have this down to a science but the game is sadistically hard. Here's the idea:

Area 1:
- Restart if you go to area 2 with less than 4 life.
- Dodge Machine gun Arrow Traps at all costs.
- Buy as many bombs as you can for Area 4.

Area 2:
- Due to spike trap bug, this is easier than Area 1. Yay!
- Well, except for White Frogs and Restless Dead. Avoid those!
- Get into the BM if you can; Web Cannons rule.

Area 3:
- I consider this the easiest area actually. Entering with a compass helps.
- Avoid combat at all costs, since the whip (which is actually a really good weapon since it can chainhit on the enemies not immune to it but with ridiculous hp) is useless.

Area 4:
- Bomb through the floor to the exit. Yes, every level if possible.
- Mummies = argh. Unless you can bomb the one on level 13 easily, avoid them.

General:
- Avoid Combat.
- Bombs are precious because of the 10+ enemy parts and the machine gun arrow traps. Always use ropes over bombs if you can.

So far:
The could be fireballs from bad guys, spike traps can hurt you, there can be upgraded rare versions of arrow traps. bombs could cost more, nerfing webguns on the bad guys that can't be killed, upgrading ufos so area3 is worse, makeing a red mummy, and I wish i could make you kill 5 bad guys to open the door, but I am not THAT evil.

Homing fireballs.,  They used to be worse to, for a little bit the arrows traps would fire so fast that they would set themselves off.

The tutorial doesn't seem to be about killing the enemies, but getting ussed to running from them. Though thankfully the tutorial just requires a few minutes and light memorization/reflexes and is fairly easy.  But the real game is less merciful, despite the lack of as many deadly creatures grouped so close. I've so far advanced only 7 levels prior to a horrible death.

Perhaps a few more 'Secret Levels' should be added.

I'll be honest, I tested it 50 times and never found the alien, and had to test him in the editor. If there is anything WRONG with the battle, let me know.

I finally had a chance to play this, although I didn't have enough patience to get through the tutorial, I actually made it into the temple. It's not as ungodly hard as I thought it might be, but you have essentially made me fear bats and snakes more than anything else. And spear totems.

So I just wiped my data, unlocked every shortcut, and then beat the game using only this mod. Fun times. I've got a few suggestions and comments:

- The jungle needs to be a lot harder, and I have a few ideas of how to do this.

First, increase frog movement speed significantly. Also up their hp a bit.

Second, create a dark monkey that kills you immediately upon contact but still has the regular 1hp. The goal of this is to make the player fear what was once the most harmless enemy in the game.

Finally, fix the spike totems.

- All of the human mobs that inhabit the temple aren't threatening enough. Give the cultists and super cultists something along the lines of yeti super movement. Or fire breath. Or laser beams. Or something.

- Holy crap the UFOs make the ice cave levels hectic. Just how I like it. Make them spawn more frequently if you can. Also make them spawn in the temple if that's possible.

- Make the ghost spawn after 30 seconds in any level. Even the crazy stuff in this mod is too manageable if the player takes enough time.

- The final boss seemed pretty easy with the scepter. Obvious solution: remove the scepter completely. And add UFOs.

I'm looking forward to playing future releases of this.

Done and done (and have an upgraded bomb frog, the "doom frog" (I suck at names) they well... doom you if you stand anywhere near them.

Thats what I can do to monkeys! I was wondering! I well work at it at once!

Make the shadow cult spawn ufos. (ufo's of both kinds have been upgraded, not sure about death ufos, might be easy to misuse however...)

No I just changed the wait timmers from 100 to 10 and made him spawn death ufo's omgeti's doom frogs (new) and red spiders while makeing the parts of the floor he sit on that can only be broken by him and not by bombs or anything, and makeing the floor deeper (as deep as I could with him being able to sink in lava if it gets to shallow he stays sinking forever and the level never ends)
oh and I "upgraded" the scepter to.

It seems your are right on both counts. I am makeing the boss easyer. I was mearly saying what I did to see how far I could take it, I couldn't take it that far.

It seems your are right on both counts. I am makeing the boss easyer. I was mearly saying what I did to see how far I could take it, I couldn't take it that far.
I am not sure how to nerf the cape.

nope much easier.

Edit:
Upgraded scepter. and by upgraded I means... downgraded. a lot. Just... downgraded a lot. The only reason it's not gone is to make sure you can get to the city of gold, and in thery there is still one good use for it.

there is a new bonus, I call "dice mode." more of a challenge then anything. yes, an extra challange

I should note that even in this verson (and even more in the next) one item has been massively upgraded, in a strange way.

By the way, the Spider lost all need to be careful around.

If you throw a bomb and miss the web and hit it it just sits there, so you can throw it anywhere if it hits it.
