Title: [NEWS] Version 1.1, Source Code Released!
Post by: Derek on December 25, 2009, 08:22:16 PM

Happy Holidays, everyone! I said I would release the source code before the end of 2009, didn't I? Not only that, but version 1.1 is out as well. This release has a lot of bug-fixes in it. It also adds some extended stat-tracking. If you've ever wondered how many times you've been killed by arrow traps or how many damsels you've saved, now you can find out - just open up "stats.txt" after exiting the game. Both v1.1 and the source can be downloaded here (http://spelunkyworld.com/original.html).

Things are going very well with Xbox 360 development - I'm really enjoying working on this platform and I'm excited about what you guys will think. Unfortunately, that's all I can say about it for now! Rest assured that the new year will bring more news on this front.

In the meantime, enjoy 1.1 and also the source code! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.  Please use the Spelunky Source forums (http://mossmouth.com/forums/index.php?board=6.0) to discuss it and share your mods!

How does one update a previous version of Spelunky (in my case, 1.0b) to a newer version while retaining their saved progress/stats/confg settings? Is there a file to copy over or is there no way?

It's quite easy, just put 1.1 in the folder where 1.0 and it well take care it if. It saves in the registry so you don't have to do anything.

Should I just start a new topic with links to the older versions? I can't even find the other places I've posted it already. Anyway, it's here Spelunky 1.0B (http://www.box.net/shared/u6iucndm6m)

Very hard to get and nothing you need. It was a small fix we already told gummy about. ask him

why not upload so we can all have it?

Title: Re: [NEWS] Version 1.1, Source Code Released!
Post by: Arucard on January 07, 2010, 11:00:48 AM
But you just said it's nothing you need? I didn't figure anyone else was interested in it since that was the only change and 1.0b is still available. If you really want it I'll put it up, just thought it might be a waste of space.

I want it (I could just make a new 1.1 verson) but someone might and you have to upload it anyway.

Alright then, but I have a felling if someone wants it later it will be hard to find again. You know the "where did I see that again?" syndrome.  :P
