Title: Awesomeness
Post by: eguee on October 13, 2009, 01:48:58 AM
I recently tried ghostrunning again. I haven't done so since 99.9, so this was my first successful ghostrun with Tunnel Man.

So is a late Hedjet, an early Udjat Eye, and an early Jetpack.

How much harder / how much less gold would a Spelunky-man ghost run game be? You'd either need some super lucky mattocks or some fast Kali bombs...

Btw, awesome job in general, I had seen a 2M+ ss before, but it wasn't this good :D

Keep the bar high, Eguee!

Really, it doesn't make much of a difference. Maybe a 100,000 gold difference, I guess.

Nice score.

It occurred to me that "ghostrunning" is an awesome technique that until now didn't have an entry on the Spelunky Wiki, so I just rectified that. Who first coined the term?

I didn't really use any term to describe the "technique"* until Delgato came up with "ghostrunning".

*It's not really a technique, just a fortunate series of circumstances and having the balls and the skill to outrun the ghost.

Well, it's not a technique in the same sense that the flip-hang maneuver is, but it's certainly a specific method of playing the game. Maybe "tactic" is the better word.

I tried to sell my soul to the shopkeeper, but I accidentally dropped it on him and he blasted me at point blank range with his shotgun.  :'(
