It's crowded in here!  Anything can appear anywhere!  And does!  Dang, that's a lot of stuff.

You might get a few glitches from enemies that depend on the player existing for certain actions, but I think I got most of them.

Y'know the game spawns totems regardless of whether they're blocking anything or not, right?

And I don't know about you guys, but I can barely get past level 2.

This literally took thirty seconds to do.  In scrEntityGen, all I did was remove the stage type requirements (and the brackets they were attached to).  Thus, it makes four times the number of enemies/treasures it usually does; once for each area type.  But there are some things that won't appear anywhere, and that will require some more in-depth changes.

You should make things appear in the tutorial.

There's glitches involving the non-generated rooms (title screen, prologue screen, status screens, mini games, etc) some includes:

  • Enemies destroying blocks
  • spike trap blocking paths
  • dying almost instantly when lives are enabled

There may be more, but I don't know.

Yeah, you have to be careful not to let the enemies wreck the non-level rooms.  Maybe I'll patch it so solids in those places are indestructable.  You'll just have to put up with the Smash Traps, though!

I forgot that loot items, damsels and even cave backgrounds are being spawned in non-level rooms as well (take the intro room, for example).

oddities with traps in the openin screen:

tough the first one wasn't all that big of an issue (just enter the score room and a new main room will be generated) but the second forced me to shut down the program.

An odd background error:

An real error! noes! got this twice.

the exit was inside a tiki trap. blowing up the tiki trap gave this result, which meanth I couldn't exit the level.

A bombtoad got stepped on and blew up, as it does, breaking the blocks underneith the entrance. ... i'm sure that should be impossible, as i spawned a bomb in invincible once, so is the unbreakable off or something?


Oh and use Greenshot for screenshots, it's so much easier. I know you're using somekind of program, it's snapped to the window.


EDIT: i just grabbed the mattock man. the ground can't be broken by that, so i think it's just the bombtoad.

EDIT:EDIT: I just noticed that there are a few texture errors all over the place, the doors being swaped with wall tiles and stuff like that, it may just be all the monsters glitching a few bits of the game.

EDIT:EDIT:EDIT: Got the same error message as DialF above.

meh, these are all rather minor problems. Don't kill yourself working on it. I made it to the boss yesterday, but i died cause i was down to one life and distracted at the time.

EDIT:a Rather major bug however, I just found.

When i started up spelunky crowded, i got this.

Several more! But I admit I just like goofing around with the intro screen. They are mostly of the same categories as the previous ones:

first of all, I ran into the same damsel issue as animalbrad, both upon entering the room and leaving it by climbing back up the rope.

then some issues with traps in the opening screen:

There's probably a smash trap on the other end of the screen. I'm stuck however, as I can't go right anymore. Perhaps the 'screen' is still stuck in going-left-mode or something. f10 to quit was my only option.

the smash trap deleted my score.

I think the smartest thing to do is to remove the traps altogether from the intro screens. I bit boring perhaps, but all the safer as well.

some issues with explosives:

caused by a crashing ufo. f10 is once again my only option.

the explosion caused a fatal error loop. this might also 'work' with explosive frogs.

solution: make all the blocks unbreakable. shouldn't be too hard i guess, but then again, I know nothing of modding.

edit: the second picture in my previous post (being caught by the smash trap) is fatal as well. I can't enter the tutorial room. Perhaps because there is a spieder web as well.

Hahahahaha, I can't believe a Smash Trap spawned on top of the reset button. XD

Most of these should be very easy to fix.  But, as before, I probably won't get to it right away.

In every mod ever that has changed the hub type thing i have been disappointed by the fact that i have to f10 my way out of the game to fix broken ground tiles (happened in some of mars' mods too) is it hard to enable resetting in the hub because that would be really helpful for these things

I managed to get to the caves from the start yesterday, i got to say upping the hearts a damsel gives you really helps.  once i got sticky bombs, it's rather easy to kill the smash traps. Oh and the fact that i'm using a gamepad may be helping. :)

This mod is a hell of a good time to play.the shop keeper keeps getting eaten by a mantrap, and then once you've got a shotgun... well you get it.

Update!  I fixed some of those bugs.  Transition screens and custom levels are now crowded as well. ;D

Oh, and less pressure from the Ghost.  He now comes at 3:30 instead of 2:30.  It takes time to slog through all that stuff!

Update!  I fixed most of the stuff mentioned earlier, and found a way to make arrow traps spawn in lush and ice levels!  Like things weren't crowded enough, right?

Spoiler: Actually, it was a damsel. I got in the change room, and noticed the damsel was changing too. So i killed the spelunker damsel, then got in changing room again, but the corpse of the damsel didn't change.

I updated a bunch of stuff!

I fixed some bugs, rebalanced a few things, and gave Tomb Lord and Alien Boss items to drop.  Also, Castle Crashers is now the mod's official soundtrack.  Happy Spelunkying!
